Justice for children is mostly associated with the notion of juvenile justice in the modern legal practice, which means that legal attention is given to children only if they commit offenses.
DEJURE Foundation sees the need to extend this concept to the category of justice for children in a broader sense. It provides for the establishment of the system of preventive measures, legal education of children, psychological rehabilitation, alternative methods of solving offenses committed by juveniles and juvenile justice itself. It demands constant work to shape general policy on justice for children.
to establish and follow-up activities of the Interagency Body for the dialogue and policy-shaping in the area of justice for children;
to implement the National Human Rights Strategy and Action Plan on justice for children;
to develop the best standards of justice for children with research and analysis of the policies and their incorporation into Ukrainian legislation.
